Jeff Spantikow, who was elected to the AAWSBVI Board of Directors at its 2025 reunion, is a 1979 graduate of the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped (WSVH).
While a student there, he enjoyed competing in track, wrestling, swimming, and playing the flute in the school’s orchestra.
After graduation, Jeff attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he studied physical education and social welfare. In the fall of 1987, he moved to Milwaukee and worked as a machine operator at Industries for the Blind (IB).
In 1988, Jeff met his lovely wife, Diane. They married in the summer of 1989, and raised three wonderful children.
From 1996 to 2004, Jeff managed a coffee shop with the Business Enterprise Program (BEP). in August 2004, he went back to IB, where he was contracted out to the IRS Mailroom for 13 years. From 2017 to January 2025, Jeff was a machine operator at IB, from which he retired.
Jeff has filled leadership roles as: President of the Milwaukee Beer Barrel Blind Bowlers, President of the Wisconsin State Blind Bowlers, and President of the Midwest Blind Bowlers. He also served on the Badger Association’s Board of Directors in the early ‘90s. In that position Jeff was very instrumental in getting the Hawley Ridge Apartments built. He is looking forward to using the experience gained in those roles to benefit the Alumni Association.
In his free time Jeff enjoys supporting his local sports teams, listening to country music, bowling, and playing pool.
